Rockot Orbits 3 Gonets-M Satellites Successfully
A Rockot launch vehicle lifted off yesterday on Thursday, July 03, 2014 at 14.43 hrs CET from Plesetsk Cosmodrome in Northern Russia to orbit 3 Gonets-M satellites for the Russian government. Separation of the 3 spaceecraft from Rockot`s upper stage Breeze took place at around 16.20 hrs CET leading to a successful orbiting.
This launch was the 22nd launch of a Rockot featuring the Breeze-KM upper stage since its commissioning in May 2000 and the second launch in 2014. Yesterday`s launch also marks the 5th successful Rockot flight since September 2013 in a row, including the combined launch of the 3 Swarm satellites for the European Space Agency on November 22, 2013 by Eurockot Launch Services GmbH. Eurockot has a backlog of 3 launches for ESA in 2015 and 2016 for the European Copernicus programme (Sentinel-3A, Sentinel-2B and Sentinel-5p). Rockot is in operation for both Eurockot Launch Services GmbH of Bremen, Germany, and for Russian Federal launches. Further Federal launches are planned for 2014.
